&lt;p>Plasma cells have a compact, usually eccentrically located nucleus with coarse chromatin. Nucleoli are not detectable. The cytoplasm is intensely basophilic, bright, and larger in volume than the nucleus. The cells shown in the photographs contain a large number of vacuoles, appearing lacy and even delicate.
