📍 Clinical Case:
Mixed-breed dog, female, 7 years old. Moderate regenerative anemia and moderate thrombocytopenia.
🧪 Cytology:
First 4 photos — mesenteric lymph node aspirate.
Next 6 photos — bone marrow biopsy.
🧫 Conclusion:
📌 Hemophagocytic histiocytic sarcoma in both locations.
📌 Bone marrow: marked erythroid hyperplasia (ineffective) and megakaryocytic hyperplasia.
📌 Thrombocytopenia of non-central origin.

Canine Small Cell Lymphoma: Lymph Node Cytology

🔬Small cell lymphoma. Referred for investigation of anemia and possible piroplasmosis; symptoms unknown.
✅Leukocytosis 132.6 K/µL. Severe anemia (Hct 17%) with no regeneration (polychromatophils 11.5 K/µL). Profound thrombocytopenia: 15 K/µL.
✅Preliminary diagnosis based on blood smear morphology: acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL). Note the large number of mitoses.
✅Leukemic transformation of large cell lymphoma should, lege artis, be included in the differential diagnosis, but it is less likely here.
✅No piroplasmosis pathogens were found within the blood preparations.
