🔬 Blasts with pseudo-Chediak-Higashi granules. ✅Microscopy images of bone marrow aspirate obtained from an 8-year-old girl diagnosed with: Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia with Maturation (AML M2). The diagnosis was confirmed at the Rogachev Federal Center in Moscow.
✅Pseudo-Chediak-Higashi granules are large cytoplasmic inclusions, more commonly found in myeloblasts or other myeloid precursors in acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. They are formed either by the fusion of primary azurophilic granules, which originate in the Golgi complex, or by the fusion of primary granules with cellular organelles.
👉 This clinical case was kindly provided for the “Leukoformula” project by: Marina Prokopyeva, a clinical laboratory diagnostics physician at the Republican Center for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, SBEI RCH, Ufa.
