Acid-Fast Mycobacteria and Curschmann's Spirals in Sputum

Microscopic examination of sputum in tuberculosis and lung pathology: detection of acid-fast mycobacteria (AFB) and Curschmann's spirals.

🔬✨ Pulmonology and thoracic surgery under the microscope. Acid-fast mycobacteria are frequent “guests” in laboratory smears from these departments.

And in the last photo – a coincidental but very beautiful finding: Curschmann’s spiral. An elegant convoluted mucin thread, appearing in bronchial asthma and bronchial inflammation.
