Bone Marrow in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Post-Treatment

Cytological findings of bone marrow aspirate after AML treatment: hypocellularity, rare blasts, macrophages, and immature megakaryocytes.

Sternal puncture from a 60-year-old female patient diagnosed with acute myeloblastic leukemia, taken for treatment control. Peripheral blood shows anemia, leukopenia. Bone marrow is hypocellular, blast percentage is 3. Mitotic figures and macrophages are occasionally seen. Photo 2 shows an immature megakaryocyte.
