📖 Reference information: LE cells (lupus erythematosus cells) are specific cells found in peripheral blood or other tissues in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). They are neutrophils or macrophages that have phagocytosed the nuclei of other cells, modified by the action of antinuclear antibodies.
