🔬 Vaginal Smear Microscopy: Leptothrix

✅ The microphotograph shows long, thin filaments of Leptothrix bacteria. This bacterium is easily recognized by its characteristic structure: thin filaments resembling strokes, as if “scribbled with a pen” against the stained smear.

👉 Leptothrix can be present in the normal vaginal microflora, however, its detection may be associated with dysbiosis.
