Myeloproliferative Neoplasms: Blood Smear and Bone Marrow

A suspected myeloproliferative neoplasm case: pancytosis in blood count, hyperplasia of hematopoietic lineages, and megakaryocyte nuclear fragments in bone marrow.

The patient is undergoing examination. Presumptive diagnosis: myeloproliferative neoplasm. In the CBC, there is leukocytosis, erythrocytosis, and thrombocytosis. Platelet anisocytosis and large platelets are noted: P-LCC: 198 (photo 1). In the bone marrow aspirate, erythroid and megakaryocytic hematopoietic lineages are expanded. Megakaryocyte nuclear fragments are observed (photo 5).
