Atypical Lymphocyte Morphology in Suspected LPD

Clinical case: absolute lymphocytosis and atypical nuclear forms in a 71-year-old patient's blood smear. Indications for bone marrow biopsy in LPD.

In the CBC of a patient (71 y.o.), leukocytosis with lymphocytosis was observed. Some lymphoid cells had irregular nuclear shapes and convoluted chromatin structures. To rule out lymphoproliferative disorder (LPD), bone marrow aspiration is necessary.
