Sézary Cell Morphology in Peripheral Blood Smears

Learn about the morphological features of Sézary cells in Sézary syndrome and mycosis fungoides: chromatin structure, cerebriform nuclear contours, and absence of nucleoli.

Blood smear: morphological variants of Sézary cells with cerebriform nuclei

The variety of morphological variants of Sézary cells is impressive.

This year, we have already diagnosed nine cases of mycosis fungoides and Sézary syndrome, and in each patient, Sézary cells had different morphology. Nevertheless, it can be noted that the chromatin invariably remained clumpy, nucleoli were absent, and there was an overlap of nuclear contours.
