The patient is being examined due to thrombocytosis. Complete blood count shows thrombocytosis (621), slight leukocytosis (10.3). Bone marrow aspirate reveals hyperplasia of the megakaryocytic lineage of hematopoiesis. Megakaryocytes with excessive platelet budding are observed.
