🔬 Newly diagnosed acute leukemia in a 10-year-old girl

Admitted to the emergency department with complaints of fatigue, fever, and painful “sores” on her lips.

📋 Tests:

  • Leukocytosis 500 × 10⁹/L (!),
  • Mild anemia,
  • Thrombocytopenia.

🩸 Upon microscopy:

  • Numerous blasts,
  • Mitotic figures,
  • Neutrophil hypersegmentation,
  • Karyorrhexis of individual cells.

📌 A picture that leaves no doubt — acute leukemia. Newly diagnosed. A long course of treatment lies ahead.
