Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in a Child: Blasts in Blood Smear

A clinical case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in a 10-year-old child: 66% blasts in a blood smear, cytopenia, and masking as erysipelas.

🔬 Blasts. A 10-year-old child was admitted to an infectious disease hospital with a diagnosis of erysipelas of the right parotid region. Laboratory tests showed leukocytes 13×109, hemoglobin 108 g/L, platelets - 112 ×109. The blood smear revealed 66% blasts. The patient was transferred to a specialized hospital, to oncohematology. Diagnosis: ALL.
