Sternal aspirate of a 45-year-old female patient, with peripheral blast hyperleukocytosis of 110.63 ×109/L, anemia (hemoglobin 95 g/L, erythrocytes 3.2 ×1012/L), thrombocytopenia (61×10^9/L), and 71% blasts in bone marrow smears. The blast cells are of myeloid origin, MPO is positive, and the PAS reaction is diffuse. Immunophenotyping is recommended to confirm the diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia.
