🔬 Tropical Malaria. A case from our subscriber.
✅A 40-year-old female patient, a resident of Africa, came to Kaliningrad to her sailor husband. She arrived in autumn in October, and her fever started in winter in December (there were frosts), so the patient thought she had caught a cold. The attending physician ordered a complete blood count. During the leukocyte differential count, we found malaria plasmodia (photos № 1,2). And in the thick film, a “starry sky” (photo №3). In addition to malaria, the patient was also found to have HIV and syphilis. Fatal outcome.
