Fatty Casts and Renal Epithelium in Urine Sediment

Urine sediment microscopy in a patient with proteinuria (3 g/L): fatty, granular, and epithelial casts, vacuolization and fatty degeneration of renal epithelium.

🔬 Urine Sediment Microscopy

👤 Patient: 63 years old 🏥 Endocrinology Department ⚠ Protein in urine: 3 g/L

❗Hyaline-droplet, epithelial, fatty, granular, and vacuolated casts were found. Groups of renal epithelial cells with signs of fatty degeneration were also identified; vacuolization was noted in individual cell groups.
