The medical professional made an error in a blood sample analysis, which led to the patient&rsquo;s death. According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chelyabinsk region, the patient was being prepared for surgery that required a blood transfusion. The laboratory technician performed the analysis but confused the Rh factor and failed to identify the presence of antibodies. As a result, surgeons repeatedly transfused the patient with blood that was not suitable for her vital signs. A month and a half later, she died from acute renal failure. A criminal case was initiated under Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, &ldquo;Causing grievous bodily harm due to improper performance of professional duties.&rdquo;</p>
